What the #(*%#% ??

Something that has been an integral part of a religion for hundreds of years? Caused perhaps countless millions emotional and mental pain, agony?
WTF right?

So....all along it was a sham. I knew that. But a lot of faithful, didn't. Concocted by the theologians, never reported in any ancient texts (unless you count the guf from ancient hebrew, which would be a stretch since it is specifically separate and different from limbo..)

Ah yes, sort of a sham. A stopgap measure perhaps to 'alleviate' the emotional suffering of parents of babies who died.. But didn't really. Worst of all would be the precursor to limbo:

yikes! Pretty stark and horrific. Wouldn't you say? Babies! Jeez.

Well I am glad this German guy decided to bite the bullet and remove this piece of crap from the doctrine....even though they have sort of stopped teaching it already. Somebody has to take the flak and erase it.

Too bad centuries of religious faithful have been born, lived, and died with the certain knowledge that their little ones dying and being separated into this 'no man's land', no admission to heaven, always lost, somewhere in between. They died with these tortured thoughts in their minds.

I was raised Catholic. Its really ok that I say this.....
