: Great poem....
Thanks, Maddy!
: No cats here...We have 2 year old Chloe....a
: bearded collie.
: She's our 4th beardie and we've never had a cat before.
I've always liked the name Chloe. It means verdant and blooming (I think).
: My son in Florida has 3 bengal cats...(Bali, Tai and Chi,
: short for Cheetah) They look like little tigers. When they
: meow, they sound like babies crying..They run around all
: night long playing....knocking things off
: furniture...making lots of noise. I practically stayed
: awake all night long when we visited last Spring from the
: excessive nocturnal cat activity.
yes.. I'm afraid cats are rather nocturnal by nature. I will have to look up bengal cats.
: Do you think there are cat people and dog people?
I don't know..
hmmm...
I have a dog (and have had dogs before this one). I love Sophie, and loved her predecessors. But.. I always had a cat growing up, and have always had a cat along with the dog.
so. I guess I'm a cat person? I think I identify more with a cat. I was born in the year of the Tiger.
But it is like comparing apples and oranges. I don't think a dog is happy unless they have some job. They are pack animals. And if you are their pack, you cannot find a more loyal companion.
Cats are more solitary, but I think very affectionate with those they love. but the instincts are very strong. They are natural hunters, and I think they can be destructive if they don't have an outlet for this.
I think in order to live with any animal, you must find a way to incorporate their nature into your life. not change their nature. Their nature is part of their beauty.
