I have made a soup for years that is a little like the won ton soup. I process a very lean pork chop and brown it in a wok. Then add a can of chicken broth. I chop vegetable very small and add to the soup. I use whatever I have in the fridge, bok choy, green onions, slices of ginger, English peas or snow peas, carrots and if we are really hungry a cup of cooked rice. It’s different each time, and it always makes a hit. How can you go wrong with a broth soup?
I heard a radio announcement for a national recipe contest sponsored by a sausage company. The top prize was a complete remodel of a kitchen and I really wanted a new kitchen so I decided to enter the recipe. I normally do not enter contests. I substituted their sausage without sage for the pork chop and sent in the recipe.
I won second place in the contest!
I did not get a new kitchen out of the deal and the second place prize sort of hurt my feelings.
It was a cookbook featuring recipes using their sausage.
